Kari, originally from the West coast, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997. She moved to Winston-Salem in 2006 to pursue a career in nursing, earning this degree from Forsyth Tech in 2010. She began her nursing career on the GI unit at a local hospital until joining GAP’s team in 2012, where she served as a staff nurse until transitioning into a Nurse Manager role.
While at GAP, Kari achieved a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte in 2015, and went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing: Nurse Practitioner degree from Simmons University in 2020. With this degree, she was able to again transition into a new role at GAP as a Nurse Practitioner, and is currently accepting new patients.
Kari is board-certified by and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She also holds memberships with the following organizations: The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The American College of Gastroenterology, The American Gastroenterological Association, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology.
In her free time, she enjoys being outside, reading, and spending time with her husband, two daughters and friends.
