As a North Carolina native, Dr. Barry attended Duke University for his undergraduate degree. His medical degree was then obtained from Wake Forest University School of Medicine before completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University.
Subsequently, he returned to Winston-Salem to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Barry joined the group in 2014. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is a committee member of the Physician Strategy Council for the Novant Health Triad Region.
Other professional affiliations include the American College of Gastroenterology, the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
Along with his general gastroenterology practice, Dr. Barry is a participating provider in GAP’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinic. He also collaborates with PMG Research of Winston-Salem in clinical research studies.
